The main goal of this event is to bring translation professionals – especially the young ones – of various sectors together and therefore focusses on universities, people involved in the language industry, national language institutes, translation services of Member States, professional associations, freelance translators, training experts and terminologists. Furthermore, DG Translation hopes to lay the foundation of collaborative translation projects, a “community of interest” and practice sharing, but also “to make the world of translation more visible”, “develop common projects, and promote a diversified and sustainable market for professional translators in Europe” (European Commission, DG Translation, Programme Translating Europe).

During two days, participants are kindly invited to indulge themselves in plenary sessions, interactive workshops, group discussions and an informative poster exhibition. The different parts will cover a broad range of topics, for instance, innovative training methods and career coaching, tips to set up a successful business as a young professional, the use of social media, personal branding, (social) networking, and much more.

It goes without saying that the #TranslatingEurope Forum is the perfect occasion not only to learn from each other, but also to catch up with old acquaintances or former colleagues and to broaden your professional network.
