The article ‘Teach yourself five phrases in an endangered language’ recently published in The Guardian, introduces five terms in the endangered language Ume Sami, spoken by the indigenous people of northern Sweden: the Sami.
Although learning how to say “this is my fox” in Sami might not help to preserve the language, it is still a first step towards diving into a new culture and its endangered language.
