We are always looking for new useful tools that could help translators in their everyday tasks. This is why we were thrilled by Alina Cincan’s idea, when she decided to ask 72 translators and language experts what their favourite free (“or affordable”) tools are.
TermCoord’s Head of Unit Rodolfo Maslias was one of those who contributed to the creation of this helpful list.
The tools we suggested have all been developed by our team. Most of us make use of them on a daily basis, and we believe they can make translators’ lives much easier:
- The search engine EU Glossaries, which or puts 223 glossaries by all EU Institutions in one easily accessible and searchable place.
- Our Dochound page, with links to all EU institutions’ websites – extremely useful to search in documents and archives.
- The new TermCoord Search App, an easy-to-use Android application that will allow users to consult more than 8 million terms in 24 official EU languages, searching in the EU terminology database IATE.
We found many other great tools in the list, and we are looking forward to trying them all! If you want to have a look at all the 139 suggestions, here is the link to the article.
