Do you “have a cat” (Imam mačka) from time to time? Or maybe it’s worse and you “have a tiger” (Imam tigra)? Are you “on the dog” (On je na psu) or have you “reached the drum” (Prišel je na boben)?
Funny as they sound, these are Slovenian expressions for ordinary and day-to-day occurrences. They refer to having a hangover or going bankrupt.
Even if none of these looks familiar to you, I think you can appreciate that they are funny. They sounded funny to me, anyway. Such interesting use of language goes to show how culturally diverse Europe is. If you would like to find out other Slovenian expressions follow this link.
