1423

We are very excited to announce our new #MondayReading section, in which we will suggest must-reads every Monday related to terminology, translation, languages and other related topics. Today’s suggestion is: Terminological Approaches in the European Context, edited by Paola Faini (2017) Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
Monday Reading termcoord terminological approaches

Terminological Approaches in the European Context provides an overview of the state-of-the-art European studies on terminology. The volume provides an exciting plunge into a wide variety of terminological approaches, uses and solutions, covering different national contexts and areas through the lens of Economics, Law, Gender, Education or the Environment. While going through the different chapters, the reader will get an insight of national issues and practices, which are assessed against European standards in order to obtain a better holistic approach. The book evidences the need to acknowledge the differences found in each specific domain, as well as the need to evaluate national terminology-related policies (or lack thereof) and to facilitate communication and dissemination of knowledge.
