How do countries across Europe say ‘Thank you’?

Today marks a very special day for our American friends as they come together to celebrate Thanksgiving. As the name would imply, the holiday represents a time when they give thanks for all the things for which they are grateful. In the United States it takes place every year on the fourth Thursday of November, but it is also celebrated in Canada, some Carribean islands and Liberia.

Even though this holiday isn’t traditionally acknowledged in Europe, we thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to take a look at the simple and ever-used phrase ‘Thank you’ and its equivalents across Europe.
