It’s that time of year again. Christmas day is nearly here and we’re all getting ready to exchange gifts, spend time with our families, sing Christmas carols and enjoy a hearty festive dinner. These plans represent a typical Christmas day for many of us, but the days either side of the big celebration are usually also filled with seasonal cheer and enjoyment. Whether you’re a student or working for a big institution, we all need some time off every now and then, and the Christmas holidays offer the majority of us the chance to stay at home, rest and take it easy for a few days. For this reason, we have to decided to make Christmas break our IATE Term of the Week.

Christmas break, often referred to as Christmas holidays, can be defined as a period of vacation over the Christmas season when people usually get time off from work or school.
