Presentation of the new EUR-Lex and the Publications Office’s Terminology Resources

Eur-Lex_EMAIL

Translators all use EUR-Lex regularly in order to look for EU-specific terminology, titles of legislation or quotations from legislative texts. A new version of EUR-Lex has been deployed recently with a new interface and new features. This has caused difficulties for users when they were looking for the until then well-known functions, as they had to suddenly adapt to a new logic and new arrangement of these functions.

In order to help translators to get acquainted with these novelties, the features and structure of the new EUR-Lex website were presented in detail, with particular focus on the search possibilities and other functions widely used by translators.

The participants received up-to-date information about the Metadata Registry of the Publications Office, as well as the Interinstitutional Style Guide, which contains compulsory rules for all texts published in the Official Journal, and about the cooperation aiming to improve terminology features to be provided in the new CAT tools.
