Colin Robertson: A lawyer-linguist view of EU legislative acts in English (click here for the outline of the presentation)

Colin Robertson, formerly senior legal officer and legal translator, then lawyer-linguist at the Council, has a wealth of experience in the domain of EU law and EU legal language. He has carried out a theoretical study of EU law and language, organised conferences on legal language and semiotics, has written articles on these topics and has worked on a book project on multilingual law.

József Villányi, formerly legal advisor at the Hungarian Ministry of Justice, lawyer-linguist, acting head of unit, then référendaire at the Court of Justice, currently head of the Hungarian Translation Unit at the European Parliament, also boasts wide experience in the field of law and legal translation, with many articles published about various topics related to law and especially EU law.
