Ana Rita Remígio

Ana-Rita-Remigio-225x300Ana Rita Remígio holds a PhD in Linguistics – Terminology – from the University of Aveiro. Her academic background also includes a graduation in English and German Teaching from the same university, and a Post-Graduation Course in Computer Assisted Translation from the Institute of Accounting and Administration of Oporto. Since 2009, Ana Rita has been teaching “Terminology and Translation Technologies” at the Polytechnic School of Technology and Management of Águeda, and has worked for several years as a Patent translator. Ana Rita has also developed skills in fields such as Technology Transfer and Intellectual Property. She was a Technology Transfer Project Manager at the University of Aveiro for three and a half years, and is currently an Intellectual Property Consultant at patents.pt, a firm specialising in patents, trademarks and designs. She is about to become an Official Industrial Property Agent in Portugal. Both worlds – Terminology and Intellectual Property – daily meet in patent translation, patent drafting and trademarks registration. Ana Rita is also the President of the Portuguese Association for Technical Communication – APCOMTEC – and a researcher at the Centro de Linguística of the New university of Lisbon and at the Centro de Línguas, Literaturas e Culturas of the University of Aveiro.
