In the framework of our cooperation with universities on IATE projects, TermCoord member Violina Stamtcheva visited two partner universities in Sofia, Bulgaria. At Sofia University she made a presentation about translation and terminology work at the European Parliament as part of the university’s efforts to update and enrich the existing study programmes for translation and terminology. She also presented IATE as an example of a multilingual termbank and promoted it as a reliable source for EU related terminology.
At the New Bulgarian University she spoke about terminology workflow and management in the translation process, quality requirements for terminology work and answered questions from lecturers and students about the IATE project.
On both occasions, Ms Stamtcheva awarded participating students with certificates for their terminology work.
