US actor Robin Williams was found dead in his home on Monday, and I would like to take this time to dedicate this post to his great achievements. As a longstanding actor and comedian, he has been one of my favourite actors on the big screen. While he was probably most famous for his humorous wit in comedies, I think that there was much more to this man. For his role in “Good Will Hunting”, he received an Oscar Award for best supporting actor. This film really showed the depth and the amount of sensibility he could show as an actor.
His untimely death, however, may shed some light on his achievements, and indeed as his wife said in a statement: “As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
Williams’s philosophical character was very much portrayed throughout his career as both an actor and a comedian, and much of it can be seen by his famous quotes. As he himself said once: “Death is nature’s way of saying, your table is ready.” Unfortunately, I must say that his table was set too soon.
