Transius image 1The Centre for Legal and Institutional Translation Studies – Transius – of the University of Geneva is welcoming contributions to the Transius Conference, taking place on 24-27 June 2015 in Geneva.

Legal translation and translation in institutional settings are the main focus of this first International Conference which combines two complementary events: a conference on Law, Translation and Culture (LTC5) organised in collaboration with the Multicultural Association of Law and Language (MALL), and a legal and institutional translation seminar organised in collaboration with the Universities Contact Group (UCG) of the International Annual Meeting on Language Arrangements, Documentation and Publications (IAMLADP).

Transius Conference 2015 is the first of a new series of events following the long tradition of the Geneva school of Legal Translation Studies. It aims at bringing together participants with different levels of expertise, from scholars to practitioners. While combining keynote lectures, parallel paper presentations, a poster session and several thematic roundtables, it will open the floor for discussion on a wide range of topics, which include but are not limited to terminological and lexicographical issues in legal translation, the use of corpora and computer tools for legal translation and the role of translation in multilingual law-making, law application and adjudication.

Individual or collective contributions on the conference topics can be sent till 18th October 2014. For more information, please visit the conference website.

Good luck and keep an eye on the conference webpage – registration opens in October already!
