The Commission’s Italian Translation Department is organising a linguistic workshop that will take place on Tuesday, 17 March 2015 (10.00-13.00) in the EP’s Schuman building in Luxembourg.
The lecturer at the conference Scrivere, tradurre: il contributo di una linguistica testuale comparativa will be Prof. Jacqueline Visconti from the University of Genova.
The seminar is intended to give an overview of a comparative textual approach to drafting and translating in Italian. The first part of the talk provides an outline of central concepts in text linguistics: decoding, interpretation, levels of analysis, connectives, punctuation. The second part provides a fine-grained analysis of a set of texts, focusing on normative texts, and illustrates the contribution of such a textual approach to both drafting and translation.
