On the occasion of the EAFT 8th Terminology Summit, which will be hosted by the Terminology Coordination Unit of the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Parliament in Luxembourg on the 14th and 15th November 2016, the European Association for Terminology (EAFT) will celebrate its 20th anniversary and will, as at every summit, give out the International Terminology Awards 2016 (ITAs) together with TermNet.
Preparations for the prizes are under way and more information about the procedure will be launched soon by the EAFT Secretariat. As with the ITAs 2014, the awards are open to candidates from all over the world.
Candidates are invited to submit their candidature to EAFT before 15th April, and an academic jury will select the winners. The evaluation of the theses or dissertations received will focus on the innovative content of the works and on how they contribute towards further developing applied research and developments in the field of terminology. The awards ceremony will take place during the Terminology Summit in the historical first hemicycle of the European Parliament in Luxembourg.
