Corine interviewerEvery now and then TermCoord publishes a new interview with a well-known terminologist. This time it is all about Jan Blommaert (Dendermonde, Belgium, 1961), known as one of the world’s most important sociolinguists and linguistic anthropologists.

He is a professor of Language, Culture and Globalisation, as well as the director of the Babylon Center at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. He has significantly contributed to the sociolinguistic globalisation theory, focusing his work on historical and contemporary patterns of the spread of languages and forms of literacy, and on lasting and new forms of inequality emerging from globalisation processes.

And remember that you can also find all the interviews we have published before at this link.
