Work on IATE by Translatum Greece

Tangible results of new IATE developments

In 2014 the European Union made available the IATE multilingual termbase in termbase exchange (TBX) format. This gave a Greek linguist, Spiros Doikas, the opportunity to download the TBX-file containing about 8 million terms in 24 official EU languages. He then used a custom script to transform the TBX-file to tab-delimited format and then applied a number of QA checks to the Greek content of the termbase.

Spiros Doikas used a custom script to transform the TBX-file to tab-delimited format and then applied a number of QA checks to the Greek content of the termbase.

The result of his work can be found in this file. This is a perfect example for a successful implementation of IATE enhancements which allows for QA and optimization of the Greek IATE entries.
