Video Fix: Despacito – Lost in Translation

1884

We have had a lot of great, new songs to enjoy in 2017, but in most people’s minds one song has had a bigger impact than the rest. Whether it is on the radio, in a club or just out shopping, we all hear it again and again, and can’t help but get caught up in the rhythm. The song in question is of course ‘Despacito’, the reggaeton-pop sensation from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and featuring his compatriot, rapper Daddy Yankee.

Despacito

In the English-speaking world, the remix featuring Justin Bieber is probably the most widely known version, but the original has enjoyed tremendous success in its own right. Despacito is one of the best-selling latin singles ever in the United States, and its official video currently owns the distinction of being the most-viewed video clip ever on YouTube.

However, despite its immense success, not everyone can sing along due to not understanding the Spanish lyrics. Most of us know now that the word despacito means slowly in English, but what about the rest of the words?

Luckily, you don’t need to look further than this video which shows us the lyrics in English when put through Google Translate. It might not be very accurate, but it’s definitely still enjoyable.

Enjoy this very loose interpretation of the song ‘Despacito’ in this week’s Video Fix!

We hope you enjoyed this clip. Feel free to leave your comments below. See you next week for another entertaining Video Fix!
