I want to be remembered for the things that I did while I was on this planet, and not for the trash I left behind

Lauren Singer is an Environmental Studies graduate as she has always been interested in the environment. After witnessing one of her classmates using so much plastic for lunch every day, she chose to live a Zero Waste life since 2012. Her decision aligns with her studies as well as her values, and the “best version” of herself. She also created a blog and a YouTube channel where she shares her tips about the zero-waste lifestyle. In consequence, this TED video is dedicated to her plea where she explains the reasons why she chose this lifestyle.
