The University of Naples “Parthenope” is welcoming applications for the International PhD Program in Euro(pean) Languages and Specialized Terminologies for 2021, offered in collaboration with the University of Artois (Arras, France). The deadline for the applications is 27th August 2021.

The aim of the PhD is to focus on the role played by European languages (English and French) and specialized terminologies in the fields of law and economy, sociology, maths and finance as well as in the agricultural-food sector, with particular reference to the technical/specialized vocabulary pertaining to each subject. The PhD students will be asked to:

  • develop research on foreign languages in a diachronic and synchronic perspective
  • produce monolingual and/or multilingual studies in relevant fields of study
  • further the knowledge of the application sector
  • provide the terminological skills necessary to train experts in the field

A maximum of 8 students will be selected for the PhD. For the International Curriculum, there is an availability of:

  • 4 spots with a scholarships
  • 1 spot with a scholarship reserved to foreign students or to those who have obtained the qualification to access the PhD in a foreign country
  • 1 spot without a scholarship

For the Industrial Curriculum, there are 2 spots reserved to professionals affiliated to two companies in the Campania region.

The duration of the PhD program is of 3 years and it starts on 1st November 2021. The students of the international curriculum will have to spend at least three months of their PhD in a foreign university or research institution.
