New Translation Technologies E-book: Result of the Cooperation between ISIT and TermCoord

1477

Since 2018, TermCoord has collaborated with the ISIT University (Paris, France) on several projects in the fields of Terminology and Communication. Over the years, the joint projects have evolved and the covered topics have widened. As part of their studies, master’s students complete a project, supervised by one of their teachers and present it to TermCoord at the end of the academic period.

Seven projects have already been carried out in total: multicultural glossaries and terminology tables on the CULT and EDU domains, interviews of terminologists, new technologies specialists and European Culture personalities, as well as visual contents for TermCoord’s social media accounts.

This year, five students from the Translation and Intercultural Communication master at ISIT interviewed twelve languages professionals (translators, interpreters, linguists, and researchers) to ask them about their opinion on the new translations technologies, and more specifically on the translation tools. The students provided written interviews as well as recorded ones and presented them on 23 May 2022 during their viva in Paris. Translation tools are now inherent to the work of the translator and are developing very quickly. There are, without doubt, the future of translation and their use has become essential for any language professional. ISIT and TermCoord created an e-book, gathering all of the interviews, reflections and comments on these new translations tools.
