After two years of virtual online conferences, AsLing’s 44th Translating and the Computer conference (TC44) took place on 24 and 25 November 2022, in Luxembourg, and a great number of EP colleagues joined the conference, presenting and discussing the new content. TermCoord was represented by its Head of Unit, Rodolfo Maslias, who chaired a panel discussion “YourTerm: A Collaborative & FAIR European Project”. Together with the panellists professors Giorgio Maria Di Nunzio, Pascale Elbaz, Elpidia Loupaki and Federica Vezzani from the Universities of Padoua, Thessaloniki and ISIT in Paris, they presented the project Terminology without Borders, launched and coordinated by TermCoord in which more than 30 Universities cooperate on terminology projects in 10 different fields.

Another valuable contribution from TermCoord was the workshop on Interpreters’ features in IATE – a joint workshop organised by Paula Zorrilla-Agut, IATE Tool Manager, Marc van Dommelen, Head of Unit of SCIC, DG for Interpretation, and TermCoord’s central terminology coordinator, Nadezhda Krasteva-Schaefer. In the joint workshop were presented the newest developments in IATE, with a special focus on the Interpreters’ view and the possibility of finding the proper terminology in a much quicker and very user-friendly way. During the discussions, it was highlighted that this view could be useful not only for interpreters, but also for other language professionals and especially for drafters.

Both contributions received very positive feedback and provoked very fruitful discussions among the participants.
