The Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” participated in 2014 with students from the Department Arabic and Semitic Studies, completing a project in the field of Human Rights both in Bulgarian and Arabic. The project is completed and closed.

Project Coordinator

Tsvetomira Pashova

Tsvetomira Pashova is an Associate Professor of Arabic Linguistics in the Arabic Department of the Faculty for Classical and Modern Languages and director of the MA Program “Translation with an Eastern language”. She delivers BA courses in Syntax and Text linguistics (Arabic) and MA courses in Contrastive linguistics (Bulgarian-Arabic) and Digital resources for the translator (terminology data bases and text corpora). Since 2010 she has supervised more than 15 Master theses aimed at the development of Bulgarian-English-Arabic term glossaries in different specialized fields. Her main research interests are in the field of Text linguistics.

Hristina Chobanova (assistant professor)

Hristina Chobanova earned her M. A. degree in Arabic Studies at St. Kliment Ohridski University, Sofia – Bulgaria, then specialized in Complutense University, Madrid, Spain. She is now a senior assistant professor of Modern Standard Arabic and Arabic Dialects in the Department of Arabic and Semitic Studies at St. Kliment Ohridski University, Sofia, Bulgaria, and is teaching Arabic Dialectology as a visiting professor at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia. She has taught in the Arabic School of Middlebury College for seven summers since 2005. Hristina is now preparing her doctoral dissertation in the field of the Acquisition of Arabic as a second language. She is co-author of the Textbook in Modern Standard Arabic – an Essential course 2004, Ed. “Colibri”, Sofia, Bulgaria.
