A Word to Remember?

Words are born and some stay in the language, some die out. The latter is the fate of most of the hype words that are brought into fashion and have no raison d’être to not be forgotten. But how do lexicographers decide if a new word is worth becoming part of the general lexicon and make its way in a dictionary (the most tangible sign that a word is viable and in use).
