The centre for terminology in the Catalan language, TERMCAT, has published online the ‘Diccionari de llengües del món‘ ( ‘Dictionary of the languages of the world’) which provides information on 1264 languages. TERMCAT has developed this dictionary in cooperation with the General Direction of the Linguisitc Politics of the Government of Catalonia, the University of Barcelona’s study group of endangered languages and the international Centre of Ethnic Minorities and Nations (CIEMEN).

Each term is represented by its word or multiple words in Catalonia and in 18 other languages; Arabian, Welsh, German, English, Spanish, Bask, French, Galician, Guarani, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Occitan, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Tamazight and Chinese. Besides, the dictionary contains information on the linguistic affiliation of each language, the countries where the language is spoken, its sociolinguistic situation, its vitality, some historical facts, etc.
