At the core of specialised language lies subject-specific terminology. Alike all sciences, terminology is evolving to keep up with and to exploit the newest digital tools.
An international conference will be held on 16th and 17th June 2022 on “Multilingual digital terminology today. Design, representation formats and management systems”/“La terminologie multilingue numérique aujourd’hui. Conception, formats de représentation et systèmes de gestion”. The conference is organised by the University of Padova, Italy, and the working languages will be English and French.
This conference aims to bring together specialists in the disciplines of terminology, terminography, computational terminology, computational linguistics and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The call for papers has been officially launched and will end on 15th October 2021.
The organisers invite contributions to the conference on 4 topics:
- Topic 1: Analysis of the information needs of the future user of the resource.
- Topic 2: Assessment of structural design approaches for terminological data collections.
- Topic 3: Study of terminological metadata and data representation formats.
- Topic 4: Methods of validating the the ergonomics of a resource.
The Scientific Committee reviewing the proposals is composed of esteemed professors from international universities and terminology experts. Among them, there will also be Rodolfo Maslias, Head of the Terminology Coordination Unit of the European Parliament.
